Cashier and Retail CV for Dubai + Sample

A cashier CV sample for Dubai and a retail CV Dubai shops can read: the POS you closed, cash handling, languages, mall experience, and visa status. The sample is fictional. Not a MOHRE site.

A cashier CV for Dubai is a till CV. The reader wants the system you closed, the cash task you did, and the languages you can actually use with a customer. I am an AI specialist in Dubai, not a retailer and not a mall manager. CVPage is an independent help site, not affiliated with MOHRE or any mall, and this is not legal advice. There is no cashier licence on the pages used here. Do not invent one.

The UAE government portal says working in the UAE without a valid MoHRE work permit is illegal. A mall badge, a uniform, or a busy Saturday does not replace that permit. The CV does not create it either.

The UAE government portal says the employer pays the entry visa, travel to the UAE, the medical test, and the residence permit for an expatriate hired into the private sector. A cashier CV should not offer to pay those costs. A mall shop does not get a different rule on that page.

What should a cashier CV sample for Dubai include?

Use the UAE header, then the lines a store supervisor can ask you to walk through. One page is enough when the experience is short. Two pages is for a longer retail history, not for adjectives. A retail CV Dubai shops can read names the store type and the till. It does not say customer-focused team player and then hide the visa.

  • Header: name, Cashier or Sales Associate if that was the title, city, phone with country code, email.
  • POS: the one system you closed a shift on. Name the product, not a list of brands.
  • Cash: the task, such as counting the float, matching a Z-report, or recording a difference a supervisor signed. No invented shortage rate.
  • Languages: only the ones you can serve a customer in. Say speaking, or reading, if they differ.
  • Store: mall shop, supermarket, or a home-country shop, with the city. Do not upgrade a till to store manager.
  • Visa and notice on their own lines. Leave passport number and Emirates ID off the file you email widely.

The wider format notes, including what to leave out of the header, are on the UAE and Gulf CV hub

How do you write POS systems and cash handling?

Write the till you used. Oracle MICROS, NCR, Square, and a chain's own register are product names a retail advert collects in one line. They are not one skill, and I have not counted which system Dubai malls prefer. If the shop ran NCR and you closed on that screen, write NCR and the close. If you only watched a colleague on another brand for a week, write the week or leave the brand off.

Cash handling is the action, not the word trusted. A clear line says you counted the opening float, took card and cash payments on that till, printed the Z-report, and wrote down a difference the supervisor signed. If the drawer matched, say it matched on the shifts you closed. If you never touched the safe, say you did not. Do not add a shrinkage percentage, a daily takings figure, or a mystery-shopper score you cannot show. I am not supplying those numbers.

  • Named the till and the task: opened the float, scanned the return, closed the Z-report.
  • Said who signed a difference. A difference you corrected in your head is not a signed sheet.
  • Kept card payments and cash payments as the methods you actually took. Do not add a wallet product you have not used.
  • Left the safe, the banking drop, and the monthly stock take off the file if a supervisor did those.

Which languages belong on a retail CV in Dubai?

No page cited here sets a language test for cashiers. Adverts often ask for Arabic and English because the counter is a conversation. That is a hiring habit, not a rule I can quote from MOHRE. Write a language only if you can take a return in it, or explain a price, without switching to a colleague.

If you speak Arabic with customers and English with the supervisor, two short lines are enough. If you understand Arabic and cannot answer in it, write understand, not fluent. A home language you use with colleagues can sit on the file if you label it that way. Do not write native in four languages because the mall is international. One overstated language is enough for a supervisor to set the CV aside.

How do you phrase mall retail experience when you are entry level?

Entry level means the work was a till, a sales floor, or a first job. Say that. Cashier, sales associate, and shop assistant are different posts if the contract used different titles. Do not write assistant store manager because you held a key on a Sunday. Do not write visual merchandiser because you folded a table once.

A mall shop and a supermarket are both retail, and they still read differently. Name the setting: a fashion store in a Dubai mall, a neighbourhood supermarket, a home-country shop. If the only paid work was outside the UAE, say the city. A Dubai reader can hire from abroad. They cannot hire a Dubai mall job you did not do. Dates need months. A gap can stay visible. Filling it with a title you did not hold is the mistake, not the gap.

Bullets for a first till job stay small and checkable. You greeted the customer, found the size, processed the return on the till you named, and called the supervisor when the price did not match the tag. You do not need a leadership line. A page of leadership lines on a first job is how the file starts to sound invented.

Where does visa status sit on a cashier CV?

The government portal says the employer signs the job offer and sends it to the worker, and that the signed offer is attached to the application for initial work permit approval, which MoHRE reviews. The same procedures apply when the worker is already in the UAE: the worker signs the offer before the employer applies for that approval. Immediately available is not one of those steps, and it does not say whether you hold an employment residence, a family residence, a visit entry, or are still abroad.

Sources we used: UAE government portal: job offers and the employment process

Put the real route under the phone number. Employment residence with the current shop means a new shop needs a new permit. Family residence means you can be in Dubai and still need the employer to arrange the work permit. A visit entry is a visit entry. Cancelled visa means cancelled, plus the date if you know it. Someone applying from another country should say so, with the home-country phone code, and should not invent a Dubai address.

Notice is a separate line. If the contract says 30 days, write 30 days. If you are not employed, write that you are not in a notice period. Flexible is not a number. A mall job does not get a special visa sentence. The permit rule is the same rule as any other private-sector job on the portal page used here.

What does a fictional Dubai cashier CV look like?

The sample is invented. The phone number is not real. Do not copy the shop or the years. This is not the security guard sample with the job title changed. There is no SIRA card here, because this person did not guard a door.

Fictional sample. Cashier in a Dubai mall. Not a real person.

Cashier
Dubai, UAE

layla.hassan.example@email.com
Nationality: Egypt
Visa: employment residence, sponsored by the shop below. A new job needs a new MoHRE permit.
Notice: 30 days, as written in the contract
POS: NCR register used by that shop. Not Oracle MICROS. Not Square.
Cash: counted the opening float, took cash and card, printed the Z-report, and asked the supervisor to sign when the drawer did not match.
Did not hold the safe key. Did not do the banking drop.
Languages: Arabic and English with customers. No French.
Passport number and Emirates ID are not on this file.

Harbour Thread Fashion LLC, a shop in a Dubai mall
Cashier
February 2023 to present
Opened the NCR till and counted the float against the supervisor's sheet.
Processed returns on that till when the tag matched the receipt.
Called the supervisor for a price that did not match the tag, instead of overriding it.
Folded the display table when the floor lead asked. Not a visual merchandiser.

Nile Corner Market, Cairo
Shop assistant
July 2020 to November 2022
Served a neighbourhood supermarket on a local cash register. Not a Dubai mall and not an NCR close.

Layla's file is one till, one shop type, two languages, and a visa line that names the sponsor. A supervisor, a stock controller, or a person whose only retail work was abroad needs a different file. Do not reuse her mall close for a warehouse job.

What mistakes are specific to a cashier or retail CV in Dubai?

  • Writing store manager, or assistant manager, for a till job.
  • Listing Oracle MICROS, NCR, Square, and a fourth brand because the advert did.
  • Adding a shrinkage rate, a daily sales figure, or a conversion percentage you cannot show.
  • Writing fluent Arabic, or fluent English, when you cannot finish a return in that language.
  • Hiding a visit visa or a cancelled residence under immediately available.
  • Inventing a Dubai mall job when the shop was in another country.
  • Putting a photo of the Emirates ID on the CV. A headshot, if the advert asks, is a separate choice.
  • Copying a security guard sample and changing guard to cashier. The licence line on that file is SIRA, and this job does not have that card.

Where do the photo and the notice line sit?

Some customer-facing adverts ask for a headshot. That is a plain photo, not a scan of an identity card. If the advert is silent, leave the photo off. The photo guide on this site treats the choice as a habit, not a labour-law requirement. Notice stays a number from the contract, on its own line, next to the visa route.

Section order, length, and what to leave out of the header are in the UAE CV format guide

Wording for employment residence, a family residence, a visit entry, and applying from abroad is in the visa-status guide

When a headshot helps on a customer-facing job, and when to leave it off, is the photo guide

A mall guarding job uses a SIRA category, not a till. That sample stays in the security guard CV for Dubai

Keep the POS line and the visa line in normal reading order. A two-column design can bury them. Paste the file into the parser test

Common questions

Is there a cashier licence I should name, the way a guard names SIRA?

Not on the pages used here. Write the till and the cash task. The legal line that does exist is the MoHRE work permit. Working without one is illegal, and the CV does not issue it.

Can I list every POS brand I have seen in a mall?

No. Name the system you closed a shift on. A week of watching a colleague is not the same line as the register you balanced.

What if my only retail job was outside the UAE?

Say the country and the shop. Write that you need an employer to recruit you, if that is true. Do not invent a Dubai mall, a Dubai phone number, or a residence you do not hold.

Should a cashier CV say immediately available instead of a visa?

No. Immediately available is not a visa. Write the route you hold today. CVPage is not MOHRE and not a mall.
