How do you ask an employer for a salary certificate?

The draft uses only what you type. It is the request, not the certificate.

When do you send a request instead of a certificate?
You send a request when you need the employer to write the certificate and they have not done it yet. The certificate is their document. The request is yours. Banks, landlords, and sometimes a visa file will not take your own statement of pay. They want the company to say it. This draft is an email you can copy to human resources, or to the manager who signs letters, naming the purpose and asking for basic wage and allowances on separate lines.
I have not found a government template for this email. The wording is ordinary workplace English: who you are, what you do, why you need the letter, and which figures help the reader. Leave out a reason you would not want sitting in the HR file. "For a tenancy application" is enough. A long story about a loan rejection is not.
What should the email ask them to include?
Your name as it appears on the contract, the job title, the city, and the start date. Monthly basic wage. Monthly allowances, named if the payslip names them, so housing is not mixed into basic. The purpose, in a few words, so they know whether a bank, a landlord, or a visa desk will read it. A date by which you need it, if you have a real date. The form's date field is the date you send the request.
Do not ask them to hide probation if you are in it, and do not ask them to call a fixed-term job a permanent one. If the institution wants the total only, you can still ask for the split. You may need the basic figure later for gratuity, which the end-of-service rules calculate on basic wage. The salary certificate draft shows the shape of the letter you are requesting, so HR can see the lines without guessing.
What if they refuse or they use their own format?
Many companies will only issue their standard PDF. That is normal. Your email still did its job if it named the purpose and the split. Take their format. Check that the basic wage matches the contract before you hand it to a bank. If a number is wrong, ask for a correction in writing rather than editing their PDF. An edited certificate is not a document you want a bank to compare with a WPS payment.
If the delay is the problem, one follow-up that repeats the purpose and the date is enough. A stack of increasingly sharp emails rarely produces a signature. The letter hub points at the other drafts if what you were asked for is actually an experience certificate or a no-objection line.
What does this request not do?
It does not notify MoHRE. It does not change your wage. It does not prove the offer you have not started yet. If you are still deciding whether to join, the offer explainer reads the offer. If a stranger is asking you to pay for a "salary certificate appointment" before you have a job, stop and use the scam checker. A real employer writes the certificate because you already work there. They do not sell it to you as a product.
The form stays in the browser. Copy the text into your own email. Download the text file if you want a record of what you sent. Print it only if HR still takes paper. Keep a copy of what you sent and of what they later signed, so you can see whether the basic wage they printed is the basic wage in the contract. That comparison is the whole point of asking for the split instead of a single rounded total.
