What should you check in a UAE job offer?

This read does not call the offer legal, safe, or approved.
A message that asks for money before the offer exists belongs on the scam checker. Basic wage goes into the settlement calculator.
What does the read do with the offer text?
You paste the offer after you take out the passport number, the Emirates ID, and the date of birth. The checklist above is only boxes you tick yourself. The button sends the text once, through the same provider the resume check uses, and asks for a plain-English reading of the clauses that are actually there. Salary is split into basic wage and allowances when the offer writes them that way. Probation, notice, leave, working hours, the contract type, visa and medical costs, and who pays recruitment costs each get a short explanation. If a line is not in the text, it goes in the missing list. The model is told not to invent a figure to fill the gap.
Two notes are added on the server after that reply, from the fields the model extracted. If the text puts the visa, the medical, or recruitment on the worker, the note cites Article 6(4). If both a basic figure and a total are present and basic is under half the total, the note says gratuity follows the basic figure. That half is a comparison so you can see the gap. It is not a statutory minimum share. A sentence that tries to call the offer safe, genuine, legitimate, or approved is replaced before you see it.
The scam checker is the companion for a WhatsApp message that asks for a fee or hides the company. This page is for an offer you already have as text. Neither page can look up a serial number. That lookup sits on MoHRE.
What should a MoHRE offer contain?
The government portal's job offer page, read on 6 October 2026, says a job offer sets out the rights and obligations of both sides and the terms of employment. It must be in Arabic and English, and in a third language the worker understands, with an annex of labour-law provisions. The employer signs it electronically. Workers in professional levels 1, 2, and 3 sign; levels 4 and 5 may use a fingerprint. After you sign, the contract has to follow that offer. The employer may not swap a clause unless you agree, your rights are not reduced, and MoHRE approves the change. The contract itself has to name the start date, the type of work, the workplace, the duration, and the salary, and it is filed with MoHRE within 14 days of arrival or of a status change if you are already in the country.
On 2 October 2026, Gulf News, Khaleej Times, and Gulf Today reported a MoHRE warning that the ministry form carries a serial number and barcode. I did not find that warning as a news page on mohre.gov.ae. Use the reports as a prompt to look for the serial, and use the portal page as the description of what the offer is for.
How do you verify it on MoHRE?
Open the ministry's offer enquiry form. It asks for the transaction number, passport number, nationality, and date of birth. Type those on MoHRE's site, not into this page. The portal's fraud page, dated 24 September 2026, says you can also ask MoHRE on 009716-802-7666 or ask@mohre.gov.ae. The October reports mention 600590000 and the MOHRE UAE app. Search the employer on the National Economic Register and match the trade name to the name on the offer.
Which bands do probation, notice, leave, and hours use?
The portal's contracts page says probation cannot exceed six months and cannot be repeated with the same employer. If the employer ends the job during probation, the written notice is at least 14 days. If you resign during probation to join another UAE employer, the written notice is at least one month. If you resign during probation to leave the UAE, it is at least 14 days. After probation, the terminating contracts page describes written notice of not less than 30 days and not more than 90. The contract can set the number inside that band.
Annual leave on the leave page is 30 days after a year of service, and two days a month when service is more than six months and less than a year. Article 17 of the decree sets normal working hours at eight a day or 48 a week. The Cabinet can vary that for some sectors, and Ramadan hours sit in the implementing regulation. Extra hours can be priced on the overtime calculator. Commute time is not working time except for categories the regulation names. A fixed-term contract is the private-sector model under the decree. An offer that is silent on one of these is not automatically unlawful. It is incomplete, which is what the missing list is for.
Why does basic wage drive gratuity?
Article 51, as the end-of-service page states it, calculates gratuity on the last basic wage. Housing, transport, and similar allowances stay out of the 21-day and 30-day sums. A package that looks large and a basic wage that looks small are different promises. Put the basic figure into the settlement calculator or the gratuity calculator and read the estimate next to the offer, instead of treating the total salary as the gratuity base.
Article 6(4) says the employer is prohibited from charging the worker the fees and costs of recruitment and employment, directly or indirectly. A line that deducts the visa or the medical from your first salary is the pattern that article is about. The probation rule that a new employer may compensate the old one is a payment between companies. It is not a bill for you.
