Resume Format for Freshers in Dubai (No UAE Experience)
A resume format for freshers in Dubai with no UAE experience: education first, visa status, degree attestation, internships, and projects. The sample is fictional. Not a ministry site.

A resume format for freshers in Dubai is a short file with the education first, because there is no UAE job to lead with. I am Salman Ahmed, an AI specialist based in Dubai, and I built CVPage AI. I am not a university officer, a recruiter, or a lawyer. CVPage is not affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Education, MoFA, or MoHRE, and this is not legal advice. The sample person is invented. Do not copy her university, her dates, or her visa.
The UAE government portal's page on preparing to work says certain jobs require expatriates to present attested academic certificates to complete residency and employment procedures. Certificates must be authenticated in the country of origin by that country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then by the UAE embassy or consulate. The same page says some professions also require the attestation of university degrees by the Ministry of Education. It also says UAE law prohibits working while holding a visit or tourist visa, whether for pay or without compensation.

The government portal's higher-education page, which I read on 22 October 2026, says it was updated that day. It says the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research offers the University Qualifications Recognition service to verify qualifications issued by accredited higher education institutions outside the UAE. The recognition report is described as an official document for employment, further studies, visas, and government services in the UAE. That report is not the same sentence as a MoFA stamp. Write the step you have actually finished.

What resume format should a fresher use in Dubai?
One column. One page, unless a project really needs a second. Education sits above experience, because the experience block may be an internship and nothing else. Standard headings are enough: Education, Internship, Projects, Skills. A designed two-column template can look like a graduate portfolio and still paste the degree after the skills list, or not at all. The ATS notes on this site are about that reading order. They are not a score I can quote, and I do not have a pass rate for freshers.
The header still needs the facts a Dubai reader asks before the degree. City you live in, nationality, and the visa route you hold today. If you live in Sharjah and the job is in Dubai, write Sharjah. Open to Dubai is a second line if it is true. A Dubai address you do not have is a worse header than an honest other emirate, or an honest city abroad.
- Name, city, phone with country code, email. Leave passport number and Emirates ID off.
- Visa in one plain line. No UAE employment is a fact, not a flaw you should hide.
- Degree, institution, country, year. Attestation and recognition as their own words, only if accurate.
- One internship or one project, with the tool and the constraint. Not a page of coursework adjectives.
- Languages you can use in an interview. Say speaking or reading if they differ.
The wider private-sector header, for people who already have a job as well, is on the UAE and Gulf CV hub
Why a single column survives a parser better than a designed graduate template is on the ATS hub
The UAE government portal says working in the UAE without a valid MoHRE work permit is illegal. A family residence, a visit entry, or a degree does not replace that permit. The CV does not create it either.

How do you show visa status with no UAE experience?
Write the status you hold today. No UAE job does not mean no visa line. The line answers a different question from your degree. Four honest versions cover most freshers. You are outside the UAE and need an employer to recruit you. You are in the UAE on a family residence and a new job still needs a MoHRE work permit. You hold a visit or tourist entry, and the preparing-to-work page says you cannot work on it. You hold some other residence, and you name that residence instead of folding it into own visa.
Immediately available is not a visa. A cancelled family residence is cancelled. A Golden Visa you have only applied for is an application. Student status, if that is what your residence says, should be written in the words on the permit, not upgraded to employment residence because you graduated. I am not describing every student route here. If your paper uses a different name, copy that name.
Notice does not appear unless a contract has one. A fresher who is not employed should say they are not in a notice period. Do not write 30 days because a blog said UAE notice is 30 days. That band is for employment the federal law covers after probation. It is not a costume for a first job.
How do you write education and attestation on a fresher CV?
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs says a document issued outside the UAE must be attested by the foreign ministry of the issuing country, then by the UAE embassy or consulate in that country through MoFA's channels, then in the UAE through mofa.gov.ae or the MOFA app. Laminated documents are rejected. A certificate and a transcript are two documents.

On the CV, use a short status. Attested, only if the UAE MoFA step is done. In progress, and name the step: home foreign ministry, UAE mission, or MoFA inside the UAE. Not started, if that is the truth. A home-country notarisation, an HRD stamp, or an apostille is not the UAE step. Do not write MoFA attested because a classmate said employers expect the phrase.
Recognition is the other paper. The portal page updated on 22 October 2026 assigns the University Qualifications Recognition service to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and it says the report can be used for employment. The preparing-to-work page still says some professions require attestation of the degree by the Ministry of Education. I am not merging those two ministry names into one stamp. Write recognition not started, recognition applied, or recognition report issued. Write the Ministry of Education step only if that is the stamp you have. The report number stays on the form that asks for it. It does not need to sit on a CV you email widely.
A degree from a UAE university is not a foreign certificate. Say the country of the university. Do not send a UAE degree through a story about embassy attestation that applies to documents issued outside the UAE. If you are unsure which stamp your profession needs, say not started, and read the advert. Certain jobs require the certificates. The portal does not say every fresher CV is illegal without a stamp on the day you apply.
Where do internships and projects go when you have no job?
Under the degree, with months on the dates. An internship is a place, a task, and a tool. You reconciled a student club's cash book in Excel, or you tested three pages of a campus site, or you filed invoices for a summer employer. You did not spearhead a transformation. If the internship was in another country, name the city. A Dubai reader can hire from abroad. They cannot hire a Dubai internship you did not do.
A project needs the same restraint. What you built, what broke, what you left unfinished. A graduation project that compared two ways of budgeting a student event is a real project. A project that claims a percentage saving, with no baseline, is the line to delete. Coursework that everyone in the batch completed is not a project unless you did something a reader can ask about. One strong project beats five identical lines that start with developed.
Skills sit last, and only the ones the internship or the project already showed. A fresher skills block that copies the job advert, tool for tool, is how the file fails a phone call. If you have not used SAP, leave SAP off, even if the store-keeper advert next door asks for it. This CV is not that job.
What does a fictional fresher CV for Dubai look like?
Maryam lives in Sharjah on a family residence. Her degree is from outside the UAE. She has not finished MoFA attestation and she has not applied for recognition. The internship was in Alexandria, not in a Dubai company. The phone number is not real. If your facts differ, change the lines. Do not keep hers and hope the visa matches.
Maryam El-Sayed BSc Accounting, 2025. No UAE employment. Sharjah, UAE. Open to Dubai. +971 50 000 0022 maryam.elsayed.example@email.com Nationality: Egypt Visa: family residence. A job needs a MoHRE work permit. This is not an employment residence. Notice: not employed, so no contractual notice. Degree attestation: not started. Not written as MoFA attested. University qualifications recognition: not started. No report number on this file. Passport number and Emirates ID are not on this file. Education BSc Accounting, Alexandria University, Egypt Graduated June 2025 Internship Campus accounts office, Alexandria June 2024 to August 2024 Filed supplier invoices and matched them to purchase orders in Excel. Did not file a UAE VAT return. Did not use SAP, Oracle, or Tally. Project Graduation project, 2025 Compared two ways of budgeting a three-day student event. The spreadsheet showed where the first draft ran out of cash. No savings percentage.
Her file is a degree, one summer, one project, and a visa line that does not pretend she can start work tomorrow on a family stamp alone. A fresher who already holds a MoHRE permit from an internship employer should say that, and should not copy her family-residence line. A fresher still in Cairo should replace Sharjah with Cairo and use a +20 phone number.
What mistakes do freshers make on a Dubai CV?
- Inventing a Dubai company, a Dubai internship, or a UAE phone number.
- Writing MoFA attested, or equivalency done, because a notarised copy exists at home.
- Treating a recognition report and a MoFA stamp as the same word.
- Putting a visit visa on the file and calling it permission to work. The preparing-to-work page says the opposite.
- Hiding the visa under immediately available, or under flexible notice.
- Leading with a skills list copied from the advert, then a degree with no country.
- Using two columns, icons, or a text box for the visa line, so a parser reads the degree last.
- Adding an expected salary you copied from a forum. If a form asks, label basic wage or the package. Do not invent a fresher rate.
How do you keep a fresher CV in an order a person can read?
Put the visa line in the header, the degree next, then the internship and the project. Use months. Read it aloud. If a sentence is a slogan you would not say, delete it. Paste the file into a plain-text check. If the degree comes out after a row of icons, the layout is the problem, not the fact that you are a fresher.
A cover letter is optional. If you send one, it has to repeat the same visa and the same attestation status. A letter that says I am settled in Dubai, while the CV says family residence in Sharjah and attestation not started, is two stories. Pick the true one.
The longer section order, once you have several jobs, is the UAE CV format guide
Wording for family residence, a visit entry, and applying from abroad is in the visa-status guide
The MoFA sequence, and what not to call attested, is also in applying from Pakistan or India
Check that the degree and the visa line stay in order. Paste the file into the parser test
If a form asks for a figure, basic wage and the package are labeled in expected salary on a UAE CV
Common questions
What is the resume format for freshers in Dubai with no UAE experience?
One column, education above experience, then an internship or a project you can explain. Write the city you live in and the visa you hold today. Do not invent a Dubai job to fill the gap.
How do I write visa status if I have never worked in the UAE?
Name the route you hold: outside the UAE, family residence, a visit entry, or another permit in the words on the paper. A visit or tourist visa is not permission to work. Immediately available is not a visa type.
Do I write attested if my degree was stamped in my home country?
Not if the UAE MoFA step is still open. MoFA's FAQ requires the issuing country's foreign ministry, the UAE mission, and then attestation in the UAE. Recognition from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is a separate status. Say which step is done.
Should a fresher CV include expected salary?
Only if the form or the advert asks. Label basic wage or the total package, and do not copy a figure from a forum. This page does not print a fresher salary.
