Nurse CV for the UAE (DHA, DOH and MOHAP Licence) + Sample
How to name DHA, DOH, or MOHAP on a nurse CV, and how to write eligible, DataFlow, exam, registration, and licence without mixing them up.

CVPage is an independent free help site, not affiliated with MOHRE, ICP, GDRFA or any UAE government body. This is general guidance, not legal advice. Confirm with MOHRE or your employer before acting.
A nurse CV for the UAE is a licence CV before it is a duties CV. The reader needs the authority named on the paper, and the step you have actually reached. This is the note I would use for a DHA nurse CV when the job is in Dubai, and the same shape with a different authority when the job is elsewhere. I am an AI specialist in Dubai, not a lawyer and not a licensing officer.
The UAE government portal says the Ministry of Health and Prevention is the federal authority for healthcare services. It says the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and the Sharjah Health Authority carry out similar responsibilities in those emirates. A single phrase, UAE nurse licence, hides which of those bodies you are dealing with.

Which authority should a nurse name on a UAE CV?
Name the body on the document in front of you. Dubai Health Authority, full name on first mention, if the file is Dubai's. Department of Health Abu Dhabi if the file is Abu Dhabi's. Ministry of Health and Prevention if that is the name on your evaluation or licence. Sharjah Health Authority if that is the name on the paper. The federal page lists Sharjah separately, so I will not tell a Sharjah applicant to relabel that file as MOHAP.
The same portal says some professions require a local professional exam before a person is licensed, and it names physicians and lab technicians as examples. It says applicants must pass examinations conducted by the Ministry of Health and Prevention, or by a local authority such as DHA or the Department of Health Abu Dhabi. Exam passed is a real step when you have the result. It is not a decoration for a CV that has not sat the exam.

What is the difference between DHA, DOH, and MOHAP?
DHA's licensing manual defines the authorities by geographical jurisdiction as the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), the Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH), and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). The same manual says every healthcare professional must be licensed to provide healthcare services in the emirate of Dubai, and must meet the primary source verification requirements in the unified qualification rules.
Sources we used: DHA: Manual for Licensing Healthcare Professionals, version 1.3
So DHA is Dubai's regulator, DOH is Abu Dhabi's, and MOHAP is the federal ministry. I am not going further than that on who licenses which northern emirate, because the federal page also names Sharjah Health Authority and does not give me a city-by-city map. If your offer is in Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, or Umm Al Quwain, write the authority printed on your own paperwork.
A clinical licence is not a MoHRE work permit. Working without that permit is illegal. Put the visa route on its own line, next to the health-authority line, and do not let one imply the other.

How do you write DHA licence status on a nurse CV?
DHA's get-registered service says the registration confirms that you meet the requirements for the category, title, and specialty, and that it places you on the Dubai Medical Registry. It is valid for one year. A healthcare facility should activate it into a licence before you start practising. The process on that page runs from the self-assessment tool, to primary source verification by DataFlow, to a computer-based test if one is required, to registration, to an oral assessment if one is required, to activation of the professional licence by the hiring facility.
Sources we used: DHA Sheryan: get registered
The licensing manual tells an applicant with an eligible self-assessment result to apply for registration. A not-eligible result is a different path, a review, not a licence. The manual also describes a positive primary source verification result as credentials verified successfully, and it lists other outcomes, including unable to verify and discrepancy. Write the outcome you were given. Do not upgrade in progress to positive.

- Self-assessment eligible. DataFlow primary source verification in progress. Not registered.
- Positive primary source verification. Prometric exam not yet taken, if your title needs it.
- Exam passed. Registration not yet issued.
- DHA registration issued on a date you can name. Facility has not activated the licence.
- DHA licence active, facility name, expiry on the document.
Those five lines are statuses the DHA pages support. Pick the one that matches the screen or the letter. Registered is not licensed. Eligible is not registered. A receipt for the DataFlow fee is not a positive report. I have not treated DataFlow in progress as a promise that the report will be positive.
How do you write DOH licence status on a nurse CV?
The Department of Health Abu Dhabi FAQ says you register on TAMM, with an ID number or UAE Pass, choose Department of Health Abu Dhabi, and apply for issuance of a medical professional licence. You upload documents for verification by the Data Flow company. After that verification, the application goes to the health licensing department. If you meet the department's conditions, you are approved to enter the examination phase.

A DOH line can therefore say: documents with DataFlow, not yet reviewed. Or: verification done, examination phase not started. Or: DOH licence active, with the expiry on the card. Do not borrow the DHA word registered unless your DOH paperwork uses it. The FAQ I am citing talks about verification, then the licensing department, then the examination phase. Use those words.
What should you write if the file is with MOHAP?
Write Ministry of Health and Prevention, then the step your own letter uses. The federal page supports two things I will repeat: MOHAP is the federal health authority, and it is one of the bodies that can set the professional exam. The DHA manual names MOHAP as an authority by geographical jurisdiction. I am not describing MOHAP's click-path, fees, or a DataFlow rule from a ministry page, so I will not invent a MOHAP status label to mirror DHA.
If the only paper you have is an email that says evaluation in progress, that is the line. If you have an exam result, say exam passed or exam not passed, and name MOHAP. If a facility licence has been issued, say licensed, and name the facility. Do not write DHA eligible on a MOHAP file because the sentences look similar.
What should the bullets say for a ward nurse?
Write the ward type you worked, the shift pattern if it mattered, and the tasks you can defend: medicines, handover, admissions, a clinic list. Name the record system you actually used. Epic, Cerner, or a hospital system are examples of names, not a requirement. If you have not used one, write paper notes, or write nothing. Do not borrow a brand from this page.
I am not giving a patient ratio. None of the licence pages I cite publish a ward number for a CV bullet. A line such as one nurse to six patients is a statistic unless it came from a roster you can show. Leave the number out. One nurse to two doctors appears on some facility rules in conversation. I am not using it, because I am not citing a page for it here.
- Worked nights on a medical ward and wrote the handover so the day shift could see who was waiting on a review.
- Gave the medicines on the assigned round and recorded them in the system the hospital used.
- Prepared admissions from the emergency list, including the allergy check, on the shifts I was given.
- Kept BLS as a card with an expiry. Did not list ACLS, because I had not taken it.
BLS and ACLS are certifications. List them only if the card is yours, with the expiry you can read. The DHA, DOH, and federal pages cited here describe licence steps. They do not, in the passages I am using, make BLS or ACLS a universal condition for every nurse title. Adding them to look complete is a false line.
What does a fictional DHA nurse CV look like?
The sample is invented. The hospital is invented. The DataFlow line is a status, not a result I am predicting. Do not copy Leila's ward, her dates, or her BLS expiry. A DOH applicant should change the authority words, not only the city.
Leila Mansour Staff nurse, medical ward Sharjah, UAE. Applying for Dubai. +971 50 000 0003 leila.mansour.example@email.com Nationality: Jordan Visa: family residence. A job needs a MoHRE work permit before I start. Notice: not in a current clinical contract DHA: self-assessment eligible, March 2026. DataFlow primary source verification in progress. Not positive yet. Not registered. No facility has activated a licence. Not practising. BLS: card held, expires March 2027. ACLS: not held. Home-country nursing licence: Jordan, still valid. This is not a DHA licence. Al Amal Hospital, Amman (fictional employer) Staff nurse, medical ward April 2021 to November 2025 Worked a medical ward of adult patients, rotating days and nights. Recorded medicines and observations in the hospital's electronic record. The sample calls it a ward EMR. Do not treat that name as a UAE requirement. Wrote the night handover and flagged patients waiting on a morning review. Did not supervise a team and did not hold a charge role. Education: BSc Nursing, University of Jordan, 2020. Degree attestation: not started. Not written as attested.
That file is a ward nurse who has started a DHA application and has not been licensed. It is not a driver CV with the title changed, and it is not a nurse manager CV. If your last role was intensive care, theatre, or community, say that ward. Do not leave medical ward in place because it appeared in a sample.
What are the common mistakes on a nurse CV in the UAE?
- Writing UAE licence, or licensed nurse, with no authority named.
- Writing licensed when the self-assessment only says eligible.
- Writing licensed when DHA has issued a registration and no facility has activated it.
- Writing DataFlow positive while the report is still in progress, or while you only hold a payment receipt.
- Pasting DHA status words onto a DOH or MOHAP file.
- Inventing a patient ratio, a bed count, or an audit score.
- Listing BLS or ACLS without the card, or listing an EMR system you have not used.
- Hiding a family visa or an overseas address under a clinical summary that sounds already employed in Dubai.
Where do visa status and the degree sit?
Family residence, employment residence, and still abroad are different. A DHA eligibility result does not change which of those is true. Say so in the header. If the degree is not attested, say not attested, or say nothing. Do not write MOFA attested because a colleague told you it is usual.
Plain wording for each visa route is in the visa-status guide

Nationality belongs on the CV. Marital status usually does not. That choice is explained in the personal-details guide

Common questions
Is a DHA registration the same as a DHA licence?
No. The get-registered page says the registration confirms you meet the requirements and is valid for one year. A facility activates it into a licence before you start practising.
Can one nurse licence cover Dubai and Abu Dhabi?
Do not write it that way. DHA's manual requires a licence to provide healthcare in Dubai. DOH's FAQ is the Abu Dhabi application. Name the authority on your document.
Should I put a patient ratio on the CV?
Only if it is a figure you can show from your own unit. This guide does not supply one. A made-up ratio is a false bullet.
Do I list BLS if the advert does not ask?
List it if you hold the card. Leave it off if you do not. The licence pages cited here are not a universal BLS rule for every title.
